Full-Time Cashier/Processor


Category: Non-Exempt – Variable Hourly
Position Title: Cashier/Processor
Reports To: Store Manager
General Purpose: The Cashier obtains or receives merchandise from deliveries, accepts donations from donors, processes donations and new goods, prices and tags items, rotates stock, deposits receipts, totals bill, accepts payment, and makes change for customers in the retail store.
 
Essential Functions:
•Be fully aware and positively promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND).
•Reports for scheduled work regularly and on time.
•Must be able to work rotating shifts and weekends.
•Notifies supervisor as soon as possible regarding the need and expected duration of any absence.
•Operates electronic cash register, credit card and check machines.
•Ensures that quality customer service is provided to all customers, donors, and team members.
•Handles customer or donor complaints or inquiries appropriately.
•Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
•Demonstrates professionalism and presents a friendly, cooperative attitude to general public at all times.
• Must be able to accommodate two (2) hour periods of standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and sitting.
• Must be able to lift 35lbs without help.
• Sorts and prices donations according to organization guidelines.
• Assists keeping store stock available.
• Assists in store security.
• Notifies Store Manager of low and overstocked items.
• Performs necessary janitorial work.
• Uses correct lifting and material handling techniques and follows ESGWND safety procedures.
• Conducts self in safe manner; report all work injuries immediately.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Basic Position Requirements:
• The ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• The ability to interact and communicate with customers, donors and other Team Members.
• The ability to work in an environment consisting of odors, dust and extreme fluctuation in temperatures.
• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Have knowledge of First-Aid and Safety.
• Have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
