Donation Attendant

Category: Non-Exempt – Variable Hourly
Position Title: Donation Attendant
Reports To: Store Manager
General Purpose: The Donation Attendant accepts donations at the collection site according to established procedures.
 
Essential Functions:
• Be fully aware and positively promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND)
• Ensure quality customer service is provided to all customers, donors, and team members.
• Report for scheduled work regularly and on time.
• Work rotating shifts and weekends.
• Accommodate two (2) hour periods of standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and sitting.  
• Lift 35 pounds without help.
• Notify supervisor as soon as possible regarding the need and expected duration of any absence.
• Greet and assist donors at site.
• Accept or reject donations according to established procedures.
• Issue tax receipts and other pamphlets to donors.
• Sort, stack, and organize donations according to established procedures.
• Maintain site according to established standards.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Work to meet assigned productivity goals.
• Follow policies, procedures, and work rules.
• Use correct lifting and material handling techniques, and follow ESGWND safety procedures.
• Work toward forklift operation and certification; training will be provided.
• Assist with production when time allows.

 Qualifications/Basic Position Requirements:
• Interact and communicate with customers, donors and other Team Members.
• Work in an environment consisting of odors, dust, and extreme fluctuation in temperatures.
• Apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Have knowledge of First-Aid and Safety.
• Have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.

• Ability to solve problems independently while working in a fast-paced team environment.
• Excellent written, oral and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Exercise discretion, judgment and confidentiality.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of department information and files.
